F3 Hungary: Leclerc takes maiden pole position

Despite a 3 place grid penalty which will be served tomorrow, it was celebrations for Arthur Leclerc, who took his first pole position in Formula 3. He led points leader Dennis Hauger, who set the second fastest time in a last gasp effort.

The Trident trio qualified just behind with Jack Doohan in third, David Schumacher in fourth and Clement Novalak in fifth. Following them was last year’s pole sitter Alexander Smolyar and Frederik Vesti.

Logan Sargeant qualified in eighth for Charouz ahead of the third Prema of Olli Caldwell in ninth place, whilst Ayumu Iwasa qualified in tenth place. Lorenzo Colombo set a solid effort to qualify in eleventh, even leading at some point. However it was a difficult session for MP Motorsport, with Victor Martins and Caio Collet ending a shocking twenty fourth and twenty fifth.

Here is the result of qualifying from Hungary.
