British GP: Hamilton fights back after dramatic collision with Verstappen

It has been said at some point the two contenders were going to have a coming together and it happened. On lap 1, the pair came together at Copse, sending Verstappen into the barrier at high speed. Thankfully he was unhurt. The barriers needed repairing so the red flag was out.

This promoted Charles Leclerc to the lead but he had a rampant Lewis Hamilton chasing him down. He received a 10 second time penalty for the crash but he fought back, got past both Lando Norris and his team-mate Valtteri Bottas, and with 3 laps to go managed to pass the Ferrari to take the lead and the victory.

A disappointed Charles Leclerc had to settle for second ahead of Valtteri Bottas in third and Lando Norris, who missed out on a podium as a result of a bad pitstop. Daniel Ricciardo fended off Carlos Sainz for much of the race after the latter also had a poor stop. Fernando Alonso finished in seventh ahead of Lance Stroll in eighth, Esteban Ocon in ninth and Yuki Tsunoda gets the final point in tenth.

Pierre Gasly finished in eleventh ahead of George Russell in twelfth, Antonio Giovinazzi in thirteenth and Nicholas Latifi in fourteenth. Kimi Raikkonen was fifteenth ahead of Sergio Perez, who got stuck in a DRS train and eventually made a second pitstop. Whilst the two Haas cars of Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin rounded out the finishers. There were two retirements. Sebastian Vettel and Max Verstappen.

Here is the result of the British GP.
