British GP: Verstappen beats Hamilton off the line to win Sprint Race

Max Verstappen won F1’s first ever sprint race, getting the better of Lewis Hamilton off the startline and never looking back despite Lewis throwing everything at him. He took the victory ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.

Charles Leclerc got a good start and ended up finishing in fourth ahead of the two McLarens of Lando Norris and Daniel a Ricciardo, who both had to fight their way past Fernando Alonso, who made a lightning start to get up to fifth, but eventually could not hold them back.

Sebastian Vettel finished in eighth ahead of George Russell in ninth and Esteban Ocon finished in tenth place. Carlos Sainz finished in eleventh after a first lap contact with George Russell but did a good job to fight his way back up there. Pierre Gasly finished in twelfth ahead of Kimi Raikkonen and Lance Stroll.

Antonio Giovinazzi finished in fifteenth ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, Nicholas Latifi, Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin. Whilst the race’s only retirement was Sergio Perez who had a spin at Becketts.
