The second Formula 2 race saw a lot more action than the first. However at the front Richard Verschoor made the most of his reverse grid pole and took a convincing maiden victory in the MP Motorsport car. He led home Marcus Armstrong, who was under pressure from Dan Ticktum throughout but eventually managed to defend the position.
Oscar Piastri finished in fourth after a feisty overtake on Liam Lawson. Juri Vips finished in sixth ahead of Felipe Drugovich in seventh and David Beckmann in eighth, the latter fending off Robert Shwartzman, who eventually spun at Club.
There were three retirements. Bent Viscaal who was tapped into a spin after contact from Jehan Daruvala, and Alessio Deledda and Ralph Boschung, who were eliminated on lap 1 after a collision at Aintree. Both incidents brought out the safety car.
With neither Shwartzman or Zhou scoring it was a good day for Piastri in the championsh fight.
