F3 Austria: Hauger takes pole in frenetic qualifying session at the Red Bull Ring

Caio Collet took pole position after a searing last gasp effort at the end of the session, taking pole position from Dennis Hauger in the dying seconds, but had his laptime deleted for a track limits violation, promoting the Prema driver to pole position. Frederik Vesti set the third fastest time ahead of Alexander Smolyar in fourth and a great session for Jak Crawford in fifth place.

Clement Novalak set the sixth fastest time ahead of Jack Doohan, Olli Caldwell, Arthur Leclerc and Victor Martins rounds out the top 10. Matteo Nannini set the eleventh fastest time with Logan Sargeant taking reverse grid pole.

It has to be said though these results are provisional, there was a lot of track limits violations and drivers under investigation for bunching up and weaving on the outlaps.

Here is the result of the Austrian qualifying session for Formula 3.
