Max Verstappen extended his advantage at Paul Ricard to over 2 tenths of a second with a blistering lap time to outpace Valtteri Bottas, who once again looked to be the quicker of the two Mercedes.
It was a good session for Carlos Sainz who was third fastest ahead of Sergio Perez in fourth and a struggling Lewis Hamilton in fifth place.
Lando Norris was sixth fastest ahead of another strong showing from Alpine, with Fernando Alonso in seventh and Esteban Ocon in eighth. Whilst Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo round out the top 10.
