French GP: Verstappen takes the lead in Paul Ricard

The afternoon practice session in Paul Ricard saw Max Verstappen take the top spot, setting a 1.32.872. However he was not fastest by much, he was only eight thousandths of a second ahead of Valtteri Bottas, who had a very strong day.

Lewis Hamilton set the third fastest time ahead of Fernando Alonso, who had a strong session in the Alpine. Charles Leclerc was fifth fastest ahead of Esteban Ocon in sixth, Pierre Gasly in seventh and Carlos Sainz in eighth.

Kimi Raikkonen set the ninth fastest time with Lando Norris rounding out the top 10. Whilst it was a disappointing session for Sergio Perez, who set the twelfth fastest time.
