Juri Vips took his maiden Formula 2 victory in the second Formula 2 race of the season. After David Beckmann took the lead from Bent Viscaal at the start, a safety car resulting from multiple collisions on the first lap, firstly involving Ralph Boschung, Dan Ticktum, Guanyu Zhou and Lirim Zendeli, with only Dan Ticktum able to continue.
Vips got past Viscaal, then another safety car followed after Roy Nissany crashed into Richard Verschoor, taking the latter out of the race. A further VSC followed after Christian Lundgaard and Marcus Armstrong crashed out, but once it came in, Vips managed to pass Beckmann and from then on did not look back, taking his first ever win.
David Beckmann pulled off a sublime drive to fend off a charging Jehan Daruvala for second place. It was also a solid drive for Bent Viscaal who took his first points of the season. Robert Shwartzman finished in fifth ahead of Dan Ticktum who fought his way back from the first corner incident to finish in sixth.
Liam Lawson and Oscar Piastri fought their way through from the back of the field to take the final two points. Theo Pourchaire had to pit for front wing damage but fought his way to ninth, with Felipe Drugovich rounding out the top 10.
