Free Practice 3 was frenetic, with multiple drivers making mistakes, which saw Pierre Gasly set blistering pace, setting a laptime 3 tenths of a second ahead of Sergio Perez in second place. The latter was the only Red Bull driver to set a legitimate qualifying simulation as Max Verstappen crashed and bent the suspension, ending his session early.
Lewis Hamilton set the third fastest time but got a monster toe on the pit straight. Mercedes are massively on the back foot as Valtteri Bottas was only thirteenth. The two Ferraris of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc ended fourth and fifth fastest ahead of Lando Norris in sixth.
Fernando Alonso continued his impressive form this weekend to end seventh ahead of Yuki Tsunoda in eighth, Esteban Ocon in ninth with Daniel Ricciardo rounding out the top 10.
