F2 Azerbaijan: Lawson and Hitech dominate in qualifying

In the Formula 2 qualifying session at Baku, the two Hitech drivers set blistering pace, where Liam Lawson took pole position ahead of his team-mate Juri Vips in second place. Oscar Piastri set the third fastest time ahead of Theo Pourchaire in fourth and Dan Ticktum in fifth.

Marcus Armstrong set the sixth fastest time ahead of Ralph Boschung who showed good pace throughout the day. Guanyu Zhou struggled and set the eighth fastest time ahead of Jehan Daruvala in ninth and Robert Shwartzman starts on pole for the first race of the weekend after qualifying in tenth for reverse grid pole.

Felipe Drugovich just missed out on reverse pole and qualified in eleventh ahead of Christian Lundgaard, David Beckmann and Jack Aitken. Whilst Roy Nissany did not set a time as a result of a practice crash damaging his DAMS car.
