Emilia-Romagna GP: Bottas and Mercedes remain on top as Verstappen grinds to a halt in FP2

The qualifying simulations were in full swing at Imola, but minus Max Verstappen, as in his words, something snapped as he exited the final corner, which forced him to pull over at the side of the track.

Valtteri Bottas and Lewis Hamilton maintained the top two positions, putting themselves in a good position ahead of Saturday. Pierre Gasly set the third fastest time ahead of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc, the latter binning it at the end of the session.

Sergio Perez set the sixth fastest time ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, who completed a good showing for AlphaTauri. Lando Norris was eighth for McLaren, with Antonio Giovinazzi and Lance Stroll rounding out the top 10.
