Bahrain Practice 1: Verstappen picks up where he left off in testing

Max Verstappen topped the timesheets in the first session of the 2021 season, on a 1.31.394. Mercedes had a better session, with Valtteri Bottas setting the second fastest time, and Lewis Hamilton ending the session fourth.

It was a good session for Lando Norris as he ended the session third fastest, having been fastest for much of the session. Charles Leclerc was fifth for Ferrari ahead of Sergio Perez in sixth, Pierre Gasly in seventh and Carlos Sainz in eighth.

Daniel Ricciardo set the ninth fastest time ahead of the two Alfa Romeos of Antonio Giovinazzi and Kimi Raikkonen, who had a good first session.

As per usual the first session in Bahrain was not representative due to the differing conditions to what we will see on race day. But the shorter session meant the running was more condensed and the session was busy.
