After a 2 week break, Formula One heads to the Intercity Istanbul Park circuit in Turkey for Round 14 of the 2020 season, returning to this much missed venue for the first time since 2011.
The Intercity Istanbul Park circuit is set in the Tuzla region of Istanbul in Turkey. As mentioned above, this circuit is much missed by F1 fans, who have been screaming for it to return since it dropped off the calendar. The reason for this is the 5.338 kilometre layout, with 14 undulating and flowing corners making for an exciting drive, including the famous quadruple apex Turn 8.
Here is a video guide to this circuit.
There are 2 DRS zones. One on the main straight heading into the first corner, and the other on the longest acceleration zone of the circuit heading up towards Turn 12, which will likely see a lot of overtaking. There are other potential overtaking opportunities at Turn 7 and Turn 9, whilst Turns 3-6 offer opportunities for side by side racing. The tyres will likely be a key talking point thoughout the weekend as the long Turn 8 will likely take a lot out of the Pirelli rubber. There is also a small chance of rain during the weekend, particularly on Saturday, where there is a 40% chance of rain.
