Emilia-Romagna GP: Hamilton makes the most of the only practice session.

The only practice session of the weekend for the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola was initially a learning session as the drivers got accustomed to the track. Once everyone dialled in, it was Lewis Hamilton who topped the timesheets, setting a 1.14.726. He was trailed by Max Verstappen, who showed signs of being able to take it to the Mercedes in qualifying. Valtteri Bottas was third fastest, 4 tenths off his team-mate.

Pierre Gasly was fourth with a late laptime, showing the AlphaTauri has pace, ahead of Charles Leclerc in fifth, the two Renaults of Daniel Ricciardo and Esteban Ocon. Daniil Kvyat set a late laptime like his team-mate to go eighth fastest ahead of Alexander Albon and Lance Stroll rounds out the top 10. It was a fairly poor session for McLaren, being fourteenth and sixteenth fastest, whilst Nicholas Latifi had brake by wire issues which saw him finish bottom of the table.

Here is the result of free practice from Imola.
